Korčula town

In the morning, we will sail from Slano, a village near Dubrovnik, towards the island of Korčula. On our way there, we will have several stops in a quiet bays for refreshment and swimming. Upon arrival at the island, we will anchor in the port of Korčula. We can spend the rest of the day exploring this main town on the island known for its medieval walls and successfully built narrow streets, that are shaped like fish bones, in this sense reducing the effects of wind and sun. Many historical monuments are worth seeing, such as the House of Marco Polo, the Cathedral, the main square located in the center at the highest peak, and the entire old town center, which is protected monumental heritage.

Hidden gem Lastovo Island

In the morning, we will leave Korčula and sail towards the unique island of Lastovo. With its 41 km², the island is full of vineyards and olive fields. Beside Mljet, it is the greenest island in Croatia, with 70% of the area covered with forest. With its 2,761 hours of sunshine, it is also one of the sunniest places on the Adriatic. In the second half of the 20th century, the island served as a military and navy stronghold for Yugoslavia. During this period, foreign visitors were not allowed on the island. Decades of isolation have left their mark on the island's life in terms of economic growth, but at the same time, nature has remained preserved. The coast of Lastovo is quite indented, surrounded by 46 islets and cliffs. The locals from Lastovo promote a sustainable environment and authentic Mediterranean architecture, so there are not many residential complexes and massive buildings. In 2006, Lastovo and its archipelago became protected Nature Park. We'll anchor in the beautiful town, Skrivena Luka. At the entrance to the bay, there is a spectacular cliff with the lighthouse Struga.

National Park Mljet

Our next destination is the island of Mljet, the greenest island in Croatia, 70% of the island is forest. Part of the island is the National Park Mljet, covering an area of 54 km² and more than 90% of the park area is forest. Exploring Mljet, you will come across lake Veliko Jezero with the small island of St. Mary, lake Malo Jezero, and the villages of Goveđari, Polače, and Pomena. Settled throughout history, Pueblo Polače has the remains of a Roman palace, two churches, and retreat. The best way to explore the island is by bike. You can rent one at the entrance to the Park. Walk and enjoy the lush lagoons of Mljet. We will anchor and spend the night in Polače.

The southern part of Mljet Island

After breakfast, we’ll continue sailing around Mljet. We will spend the last day exploring the southern part of the island of Mljet and stopping for a swim and snorkeling in Sobra or Okuklje Bay. The position of Okuklje, a circular bay surrounded by green hills, provides sailors a great place to anchor during windy weather. Arrival in Slano is in the late afternoon.
